What is Regaine Männer?
Regaine Männer is the original minoxidil product from Johnson & Johnson. It contains 5% minoxidil and was developed specifically for men with hereditary hair loss.
Regaine has been on the market for over 30 years. It is available in two dosage forms: as a solution and as a foam.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Minoxidil 5%
Regaine improves blood flow to the scalp and stimulates hair growth. The exact mechanism of action is not fully known. Minoxidil may work in the following ways:
- Widening of the blood vessels in the scalp
- Extension of the hair growth phase
- Reactivation of dormant hair follicles
Who is it suitable for?
Men with:
- Early-stage baldness at the back of the head (crown)
- Receding hairline at the temples
- Hereditary hair loss (androgenetic alopecia)
Available Dosages
Regaine Männer solution:
- 5% minoxidil
- Apply 1 ml 2x daily
Regaine Männer foam:
- 5% minoxidil
- Apply half a capful (approx. 1 g) 2x daily
How to Take
Apply to the dry scalp in the morning and evening and massage in. Leave on for at least 4 hours.
Contraindications
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active substance minoxidil or any of the other ingredients, in women, under 18 years of age, in case of scalp conditions, sudden or patchy hair loss, or simultaneous use of other medicines on the scalp. Do not use in case of cardiovascular disease, heart rhythm disorders or high blood pressure (even if treated with blood pressure-lowering medicines). Do not apply the foam to the hairline (forehead, temple).
Possible Side Effects
Scalp irritation, itching, initially increased hair loss (shedding), unwanted hair growth.
