What is Lenzetto?

Lenzetto is a transdermal estradiol spray for the treatment of alternating-year complaints. It is the only available estrogen spray therapy and offers a practical alternative to tablets, gels and plasters.

The spray is sprayed once a day on the forearm. The estradiol is absorbed via the skin and passes directly into the bloodstream without passing the gastrointestinal tract (no first pass effect in the liver).

Women with intact uterus must also take a gestagen (e.g. Famenita).

Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action

Active ingredient: Estradiol 1,53 mg pro Sprühstoß

Estradiol over the skin (transdermal):

Active mechanism:

  • Estradiol is sprayed on the skin
  • The spray dries quickly and forms an invisible film
  • Estradiol is absorbed into the bloodstream via the skin
  • equals the oestrogen deficiency after the change years

Advantages of transdermal application:

  • bypassing the first pass effect in the liver
  • Uniform hormone levels than in tablets
  • Lower risk of thrombosis than oral administration
  • No influence on blood clotting factors

Effects:

  • Relieves heat flashes and night sweat
  • Improves sleep and mood
  • Prevents vaginal atrophie
  • Protects against bone wound

Who is it suitable for?

Lenzetto is suitable for:

  • Postmenopausal women with alternating-year complaints
  • Women who want to avoid tablets and plasters
  • Women with increased risk of thrombosis (perversely preferred)
  • Women with overweight (better absorption than plaster)

Advantages:

  • Invisible (not visible in plaster)
  • Fast drying
  • Simple application
  • Lower risk of thrombosis as tablets

Not suitable:

  • In contraindications against HRT
  • On damaged or irritated skin

Available Dosages

Lenzetto spray:

  • 1.53 mg of estradiol per spray jet

Start dose:

  • 1 spray every day on the forearm

Dosis adjustment:

  • Increase to 2-3 spray taps daily
  • strive for the lowest possible effective dose

** Women with uterus: additionally take stags (e.g. progesterone)!

How to Take

Application: 1. Spray on the forearm between elbow and shoulder Two. Keep the pump vertically 3. 1 spray shock from approx. 5 cm distance 4. Leave 2 minutes dry Five. Don't rub! 6. Wash hands

Important notes:

  • Always at the same time
  • At least 20 cm distance between multiple spray taps
  • 1 hour not washing the place
  • No sun protection on the spray site (before or after)
  • Avoid skin contact with other people 1 hour

Contraindications

Do not apply at:

  • Breast cancer (known or suspected)
  • estrogen-dependent tumors
  • Unexplained vaginal bleeding
  • Active thrombosis/emboly
  • Heavy liver disease
  • Porphyry

Preview at:

  • Thrombosis risk
  • uterus myomas
  • Endometriosis
  • Migraine
  • Diabetes, high blood pressure

Pregnant period: Contraindicated.

Possible Side Effects

Acid (1-10%):

  • Breast tensions
  • Headaches
  • Skin reactions at the spray site
  • Application site reactions

Occasionally:

  • nausea
  • Weight gain
  • Mood changes
  • Blowing

Selten:

  • Thromboemboly (lower than oral administration)
  • bile stone diseases

** Changing the spray site regularly (right/left arm).

Interactions

Reactions:

  • CYP3A4 inductors – reduced estrogen effect
  • sunscreens – can reduce estradiol absorption (retain time interval)

speciality: Transdermal application has fewer interactions than oral estrogens.
