What is femostone?

Femoston is a combined hormonal substitute that combines estradiol (estrogen) and ddrogesterone (stagnation) in a tablet. It is designed for women with uterus who need both hormones.

Femoston is available in various variants:

  • Femoston 1/10 and 2/10 (sequently: only estrogen alone, then combination)
  • Femoston conti (continuous: same dose throughout)

The sequential variant leads to an outbreak bleeding, which continuously ideally leads to bleeding freedom.

Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action

Active ingredient: Estradiol, Dydrogesteron

Estradiol:

  • Replaces the missing estrogen
  • Relieving annual complaints

Dydrogesterone:

  • Protects the cervical mucosa from overstimulation
  • Prevents mucous membrane growth and reduces cancer risk

Who is it suitable for?

  • Women with alternating-year complaints who still have a womb
  • Women who want a comfortable one-day therapy

Available Dosages

Femoston 1/10:

  • 14 tablets: 1 mg of estradiol
  • 14 tablets: 1 mg of estradiol + 10 mg of ddrogesterone

Femoston 2/10:

  • Higher estrogen dose (2 mg)

  • Continuous combination (same dose daily)

How to Take

  • A tablet daily, without a break
  • Independent meals
  • Possible at the same time

Contraindications

Breast cancer, estrogen-dependent tumors, thrombosis, unexplained bleeding, severe liver disease.

Possible Side Effects

Breast tensions, headaches, nausea, bleeding, weight changes.
