What is acenaline?

Acnatac is a prescription combination gel for the topical treatment of medium-heavy inflammatory acne (acne with papules and pustules). It contains two proven active ingredients: the retinoid tretinoin and the antibiotic clindamycin.

The combination of a retinoid with an antibiotic enables effective treatment of both the comedogenic and the inflammatory component of the acne. In addition, the tretinoin reduces the development of antibiotic resistances.

Acnatac is used once a day.

Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action

Active ingredient: Tretinoin 0,025%, Clindamycin 1%

The two active ingredients are added:

Tretinoin (0.025%)

  • Classic retinoid (vitamin A acid)
  • Normalizes disturbed maple
  • Prevents and dissolves Komedons
  • Promotes skin renewal
  • Reduces resistance development against clindamycin

Clindamycin (1%):

  • Antibiotics of lincosamide class
  • Inhibits the growth of P. acnes
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Works quickly against inflammatory lesions

Synergy effect: Tretinoin enhances the effect of clindamycin by better penetration and at the same time reduces the risk of resistance.
