What is Waiting?

Wartec® is a cream with Podophyllotoxin in lower concentration (0.15 %) than Condylox® (0.5 %). It is used for treating external genital warts. The cream formulation allows easier and more uniform application than solutions.

Wartec® cream is particularly suitable for more complex warts and offers a more skin-friendly alternative to higher concentrated podophyllotoxin preparations.

Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action

Active ingredient: Podophyllotoxin (0,15 %)

Active mechanism:

  • Identical with Condylox® (Podophyllotoxin)
  • Inhibition of mitosis by tubeulin binding
  • necrosis of wart cells
  • Lower concentration (0.15 % vs. 0.5 %) with improved compatibility

Creme benefits:

  • More uniform distribution on the wart area
  • Better suitability for flat warts
  • Less risk of overdose
  • Applicants in application as solutions

Who is it suitable for?

Wartec® cream is suitable for:

  • Adults with external genital warts
  • Flächigeren wart findings
  • Self-treatment at home

Not suitable:

  • Internal warts
  • Children
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Available Dosages

Language cycle:

  • twice a day (morning and evening) for 3 consecutive days
  • Then 4 days break
  • Maximum 4–5 cycles (weeks)

Application quantity:

  • Apply thin layer to warts
  • treatment area maximum 10 cm2

How to Take

Application: 1. Clean warts Two. Apply thin layer Waitc® to warts 3. Easy to rub 4. Drying Five. Wash hands

Important notes:

  • Healthy skin as much as possible
  • Take a break with strong irritation
  • Set 3 days on / 4 days off
  • Do not apply for more than 5 weeks

Contraindications

**Wartec® must not be used at:* *

  • hypersensitivity to podophyllotoxin
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Children
  • Inside genital warts
  • Open wounds

Preview at:

  • Large-scale wart findings
  • Immunosuppressed patients

Possible Side Effects

**Acid (> 10 %):* *

  • Local redness, burning
  • Erosions
  • Pain at the job site

Occasionally:

  • Itching
  • Swelling
  • crust formation
  • Bleeding

** Compared to Condylox®:* * tendentially better tolerated by the lower concentration but similar side effect profile.
