Velafee is a combined birth control pill containing the progestin dienogest and ethinylestradiol. It is a generic of Valette and contains the same active ingredients.
Dienogest is known for its pronounced antiandrogenic effect. It is therefore used not only for contraception but can also help with acne and oily skin.
When taken correctly, Velafee provides very high protection against pregnancy.

How to Take
- One tablet daily at the same time
- Take for 21 days, then a 7-day break
- Withdrawal bleeding during the break
- Start a new blister pack on the 8th day
Contraindications
Do not use in cases of:
- Current or previous venous thromboembolism (e.g. deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism), a known hereditary or acquired predisposition to it, or major surgery with prolonged immobilization
- Current or previous arterial thromboembolism (e.g. heart attack), early stages such as angina pectoris, or a known hereditary or acquired predisposition to it
- Stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA), including in the past
- High risk of thrombosis due to several risk factors or one serious risk factor such as diabetes with blood vessel damage, severe high blood pressure or a severe lipid metabolism disorder
- A history of migraine with focal neurological symptoms
- Smoking
- Current or previous inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis) if associated with severely elevated blood fat levels (severe hypertriglyceridemia)
- Current or previous liver disease, as long as liver values have not returned to normal (including Dubin-Johnson and Rotor syndrome)
- Current or previous liver tumors (benign or malignant)
- Known or suspected malignant diseases of the sex organs (e.g. of the breast or the lining of the uterus)
- Unexplained vaginal bleeding
- Unexplained absence of menstrual periods (amenorrhea)
- Hypersensitivity to the active substances or any of the other ingredients
- Concomitant use of hepatitis C medicines containing ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir and dasabuvir, glecaprevir/pibrentasvir or sofosbuvir/velpatasvir/voxilaprevir
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding (until the child is fully weaned)
