Quick navigation

What is Aida?

Aida is a combined antibabypillae with drospirenon and ethinylestradiol. It is a generic for the brand pill Yasmin and contains the identical active ingredients in the same dosage.

The gestagen Drospirenon is characterized by its antiandrogene and antimineralocorticoide effect. It can therefore not only prevent, but also help with acne and reduce water retention before the period.

The Pearl index is 0.1 to 0.9 when used correctly.

Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action

Active ingredient: Drospirenon 3 mg, Ethinylestradiol 0,03 mg

Aida is prevented by several mechanisms:

Ovulation inhibition: Drospirenon and ethinylestradiol suppress the ovulation by inhibiting the gonadotropins FSH and LH.

Zervixschleim: The mucus in the cervical neck becomes more viscous.

Additive effects of Drospirenon:

  • Antiandrogen: Can improve acne and excessive hair
  • Antimineralokortkoid: Works slightly dewatering

Who is it suitable for?
