What is Cotrim forte?
Cotrim forte ist ein Kombinationsantibiotikum (Co-Trimoxazol) zur Behandlung unkomplizierter Harnwegsinfektionen. Die Kombination beider Wirkstoffe wirkt synergistisch und verstärkt die antibakterielle Wirkung.
Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action
Active ingredient: Trimethoprim 160 mg / Sulfamethoxazol 800 mg
Beide Wirkstoffe hemmen die Folsäuresynthese der Bakterien an unterschiedlichen Stellen. Trimethoprim blockiert die Dihydrofolatreduktase, Sulfamethoxazol hemmt die Dihydropteroatsynthase.
Who is it suitable for?
Erwachsene mit unkomplizierten Harnwegsinfektionen, insbesondere wenn andere Antibiotika nicht geeignet sind.
Available Dosages
Standarddosis: 2x täglich 1 Tablette über 3-5 Tage.
How to Take
Die Tabletten mit ausreichend Flüssigkeit einnehmen. Während der Behandlung viel trinken.
Contraindications
Nicht anwenden bei Überempfindlichkeit gegen Sulfonamide, schweren Leber- oder Nierenschäden, Schwangerschaft oder Stillzeit.
Possible Side Effects
Häufig: Übelkeit, Erbrechen, Durchfall, Hautausschlag. Selten: Blutbildveränderungen.
Interactions
Wechselwirkungen mit Warfarin, Methotrexat, Phenytoin und oralen Antidiabetika möglich.
