What is Budesonid Easyhaler?

The Budesonid Easyhaler is a powder inhaler that contains the proven inhalative corticoid Budesonid. It is a generic alternative to the Pulmicort Turbuhaler and is used for long-term treatment of bronchiale asthma.

The Easyhaler is a breath-controlled powder inhaler with integrated dose counter. It is particularly easy to use and is suitable for patients who have difficulty coordination in dosing aerosols.

Budesonid is the world's most commonly used inhalative corticoid and forms the basis of asthma base therapy.

Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action

Active ingredient: Budesonid

Budesonid acts locally anti-inflammatory in the airways:

Active mechanism: 1. Budesonid binds to glucocorticoid receptors in the cells Two. Activates anti-inflammatory gene expression 3. Inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators 4. Reduces the immigration of inflammatory cells

Effects:

  • Reduction of mucous membrane swelling
  • Reduction of slime production
  • Reducing bronchial hyperreagiability
  • Prevention of respiratory reconstruction (remodeling)

Time:

  • First effects: after a few days
  • Full effect: after 1-2 weeks of regular application
  • No immediate effect in acute breathing.

Who is it suitable for?

The Budesonid Easyhaler is suitable for:

  • All grades of asthma (as basic therapy)
  • Adults and children from 6 years
  • Patients who prefer a simple powder inhaler

Advantages of the Easyhaler:

  • Easy operation
  • Integrated dose meter
  • No gas needed
  • No coordination between spraying and inhaling

Not suitable for:

  • Acute asthma attacks
  • As sole therapy for severe asthma
  • patients with very low inhalation

Available Dosages

Budesonid Easyhaler:

  • 100 μg per single dose
  • 400 μg per single dose

Dosing with asthma (adults):

  • Light: 200-400 μg per day (in 1-2 doses)
  • Medium: 400-800 μg per day
  • Heavy: 800-1600 μg per day

For children:

  • 100-400 μg per day depending on the severity

** Aim for the lowest possible effective dose.

How to Take

Easyhaler – Inhalation technology: 1. Remove protective cap Two. Keep your device upright, shake it hard 3. Press and release (Click – dose is loaded) 4. Breathe deep (not in the inhaler) Five. Close the mouthpiece 6. Strong and deep breathing 7. Keep breath 5-10 seconds 8. Breathe slowly 9. Rinse mouth with water and sprinkle

Important:

  • Apply regularly, even without complaints
  • Do not drop abruptly
  • rinse mouth after each inhalation (mouth soor prevention)

Contraindications

Do not apply at:

  • hypersensitivity to budesonide or lactose

Preview at:

  • Active lung tuberculosis
  • Mushroom, virus or bacterial respiratory infections
  • Heavy liver failure

pregnant: Can and should be used with asthma. Uncontrolled asthma is more dangerous for mother and child than Budesonid.

Style time: Go into breast milk in small amounts. Application possible.

Possible Side Effects

Acid (1-10%):

  • Oral Candidose
  • Heiserkeit
  • Rache irritation
  • Husten after inhalation

Occasionally:

  • Headaches
  • Taste disorders

Selten (at high doses/long-term therapy):

  • Adrenal suppression
  • slowing growth in children
  • Bone density reduction
  • Cataract, glaucoma
  • Skin changes

Prevention: rinse the mouth after each inhalation. Use the lowest possible dose.

Interactions

Reactions:

  • CYP3A4 inhibitors (Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, Ritonavir) – increased Budesonid levels
  • estrogens – can strengthen Budesonid effects

No relevant interaction with:

  • Bronchodilatators (sense combination)
  • Most other medicines
