What is desmin?

Desmin is a combined antibabypille with desogestrel and ethinylestradiol. The preparation is available in two dosages: Desmin 20 (low dose) and Desmin 30 (standard dosage).

Desogestrel is a 3rd generation stag with good compatibility. The low dosed variant contains only 0.02 mg of ethinylestradiol and is therefore particularly suitable for estrogen-sensitive women.

Active Ingredients & Mechanism of Action

Active ingredient: Desogestrel 0,15 mg, Ethinylestradiol 0,02 mg oder 0,03 mg

Desmin acts three times:

1. Ovulation inhibition: The hormones prevent ovulation 2. Zervixschleim: becomes more viscous and impermeable to sperm 3. Endometrium: The cervical mucosa is changed

The effect requires daily intake.

Who is it suitable for?

Desmin is suitable for:

  • Women without increased risk of thrombosis
  • Women looking for a low dosed pill
  • For estrogen sensitivity (Desmin 20)

Available Dosages

Desmin 20:

  • 0.02 mg ethinylestradiol + 0.15 mg desogestrel

Desmin 30:

  • 0.03 mg ethinylestradiol + 0.15 mg desogestrel

Both: 21 tablets per blister

How to Take

  • A tablet daily at the same time
  • 21 days take, 7 days break
  • In the pause bleeding

Contraindications

Not with:

  • Thrombosis risk
  • cardiovascular diseases
  • Liver disease
  • Pregnancy
  • Smoking over 35

Possible Side Effects

Family: headache, nausea, chest tensions, mood swings Selten: Thrombosis
